Reg Used Rotor
Reg Used Rotor

Extended cranking when cold '99 Suburban?
My '99 suburban cranks over quite a bit longer than it used to when I leave it set unstarted for more than 6 hrs. Outside temp. doesn't seem to affect it, I have changed the fuel pump and it had plugs/cap/rotor done at 100,000 mi. Problem just appeared all of the sudden not gradually and it fires right up if it has been running recently. Plenty of power, no misses, idles smooth once started. Fuel pressure reg maybe?
YES, The fuel pressure regulator is leaking. (the engine is loosing it's prime ) that's why you have extended crank...
Unfortunately, the regulator is under the plastic intake plenum (not particularly a hard job, just take a little time) and the regulator can be replaced separately..
You can re-use the old plenum gasket..
GOOD LUCK
