Is it physically possible to bench another 45 plate on each side in 4 months tops?
I'm 16 turning 17 next month and i lift a 45 lbs bar with 45 lbs weights on the side with a 10 rep 3 set and i feel tight after that and if i start adding little weights little by little is it possible to go up to two 45 lbs plates on each side in 4 months tops?
You never stated how many reps you wanted to do at 225 (two 45 lb plates on each side). I'm assuming one clean rep.
So, if you are benching 135 lbs 10 times, the one rep calculations is that you can bench 180lbs once. your goal is to bench 225lbs in four months or 17 weeks (4.33 wks/mo).
If you increase your bench press to 170 lbs with 10 reps (35 more pounds), you'll be able to bench 225 once. You'll need to increase your bench by approximately 2 pounds per week for a consecutive 17 weeks to achieve this. Remember! You must bench the new weights a minimum of 10 reps.
