What's the deal with HARLEY 96" Big Twin???

I have made up my mind I'm selling both my Sportster and my SV650 and I want a Heritage Softail or a RoadKing Classic...
I have owned a Springer Softail and a plain RoadKing before with 88" twincam.
HOWEVER...................
I am hearing the 96" is overheating badly, to the point where you have to pull over and get off the bike. Is HD going to fix this? THIS IS B.S. because I really want one.
IS it fixed with pipes, aircleaner and race-tuner?

I have the 96" engine in my 07 road king classic. I've put 11,000 miles on it in the past year. When I first got it, yeah, it was hot. But it was never so hot that I had to pull over or the engine started pinging. The only time you could tell was at stoplights. Like the other guy said, it runs hot because it's running so lean. And it has to run lean to meet the new emissions standards. But who buys a Harley and leaves the stock pipes on? Once you change pipes you have to change the fuel system. I put Rineharts, a power commander, and a pro series hypercharger on my bike after about 6,000 miles. With the power commander I can control exactly how much fuel my bike gets for every throttle and rpm setting. The rinehart pipes also included oxygen sensor eliminators. From what I've read, they change the fuel to air ratio so that the bike always runs lean. To me that means get rid of them. The bike runs a lot cooler now. Yeah, it's air cooled, so still gets hot when you're not moving, but it's not uncomfortable.

I'll add that I live in south Georgia, and it gets really hot in the summer. I've never had a problem with overheating. Get the bike, just make sure at a minimum you richen up the fuel system.
